Itineraries

The Link uses what we call Itineraries. A principle you might know from the Enterprise Service Bus principles. An itinerary consists of a sequence of itinerary steps, which on a technical level most often will be a BizTalk orchestration. When a document is processed by the Link it will actually be processed by two itineraries. One specified for the inbound format, which results in a CDM format of the given document type, and one specified for the outbound format, which is sent to the receiving system/partner. The implementation and usage of itineraries in the Link will be explained in more specific detail later.
