Tracking fields

Tracking Fields

This feature enables Link users to search for documents based on specific self-chosen key information.

In support-scenarios it is useful to be able to find a document quickly, so we encourage you to use this feature.

The potential use-cases for this feature are infinite, but here are a few real-life examples from B2B integration scenarios:

Document type

Tracking field

Sales invoice

Dispatch advice number

Buyer order number

Supplier order number

Order response

Buyer order number

Supplier order number

Sales dispatch advice

SSCC number

Price catalog

GTIN

If you e.g. set up these tracking fields on the corresponding document types, you would be able to use the tracking fields as search criteria on their corresponding document types as well as see their values when working with the relevant documents.

Note that tracking fields can operate on line-level - e.g. the example with the Price catalog above would require the tracking field to search on all items in the catalog.

The tracking fields are used on the three tracking pages:

Setting up tracking fields is an advanced task and requires knowledge about XML and XPATH. You can read more about how to to this in the This section also describes the different options in more detail.
